crucial candle care

There are some important things to know when it comes to tending to your beeswax candle. A beeswax candle has the highest melting point out of all candle waxes, making it have a longer burn time and provides a cleaner burn. Beeswax candles burn differently than soy or paraffin wax. Thus, you will want to properly care for your Light of Life aromatherapy candle to get the most life out of it!

You will want to ensure your candle is kept clean when not in use. The Light of Life candle vessel design comes with a matching lid that can be versatile for your candle dust cover and also a heat resistant stand for when your candle is lit to prevent surfaces from over heating while your candle is burning.

To prevent tunneling, make sure to burn your candle until the entire surface of the beeswax is melted from edge to edge of your container. Tunneling happens when the entire wax pool is not completely melted and the area right around the wick melts down and creates a tunnel like shape (see image above), preventing the rest of your wax from melting properly on your next burn. Your candle will lose burn time when tunneling occurs. It is especially important to make sure the wax pool is melted across the entire surface area on your first lighting of the candle. You can avoid tunneling by keeping your candle lit until the entire wax pool is melted.
